Bathroom project
A traditional bathroom, rebuilt from the floor
Plaster pink, painted panelling and polished brass.
A period bathroom done properly. A roll top bath under the sash window, tongue and groove panelling to dado height, and polished brass on everything from the bath shower mixer to the towel radiator. The walls are a soft plaster pink, warm by day and glowing under the brass wall lights at night.

Traditional detail, used consistently.
Period bathrooms go wrong when one modern piece sneaks in. Here the basin unit, the close coupled WC, the ledged and braced door and the brass column radiator all speak the same language.
Heavier than it looks
A freestanding bath full of water weighs a great deal, and plenty of older timber floors weren’t built with that in mind. We check the joists before a bath like this goes in, and strengthen the floor if it needs it. It’s an afternoon of work that nobody will ever see.
